Olivier Guenat is a Swiss composer and solo guitarist :
Olivier Guenat stands for the love of a job well done, Helvetic precision as well as attention to detail to serve aesthetics. With a rock and classical background (at the Biel Conservatory), since his early childhood he has been studying the various instruments necessary for the composition of his different works: guitar electric, bass, classical guitar, trumpet, piano, violin and vocals.
Inspired by the famous “guitar heroes” of the 70s and 90s such as Ritchie Blackmore, Uli Jon Roth, Yngwie Malmsteen and Vinnie Moore, he developed his virtuosity by immersing himself in the greatest violin soloists. As a sound lover and technician, he took care of his guitar’s sound in order to obtain both the amplitude, warmth and precision that make its sound signature unique.
Growing up in a rich and varied musical environment, Olivier was from the beginning, lulled by the great classical works as well as by composers of film music such as Vladimir Cosma or Ennio Morricone Later, he was quickly seduced by the spectacular rock bands of the 70s and 80s, as well as by the energetic and non-conformist Metal movement of the early 90s.
At the crossroads of these worlds that apparently everything separated, he knew, in his original compositions, subtly combine strength and harmony; marrying saturated sounds with the purity of the strings, the power of the brass, the lightness of the woodwinds and the “lyrical” flights of the guitar that seem to have no boundaries.
He is now busy developing a project that will be presented to the public in 2021. An original work, the quintessence of his universe, “solar” and turbulent, accompanied by his rock band – Exception – a symphony orchestra and a mixed choir.
