Maestro Stéphane Decor became the youngest Swiss conductor with his interpretation of Wagner’s Tannhaüser
Maestro Stéphane Decor - An unusual career path...
As an accomplished trumpet player and Maestro, Stéphane DECOR began his career conducting chamber and symphonic orchestras in Switzerland and England. His passion for music has led to many educational concerts, initiatives, and support for artists to revive their careers. Stéphane is an accomplished producer and manager with a stellar career in classical and performances for leading political figures and royal dignitaries.
Stéphane‘s high level of professionalism and ability allowed him to improvise in any situation, leading him to be contracted as the conductor of the private chamber orchestra of royal personalities.
From the front of the stage where he has demonstrated that he can successfully unite the musicians and the public with success, Stéphane has devoted the last 30 years to the “artistic elevation” of soloists and aspiring musicians.
With a duty to instill culture to society, Stéphane has expanded his reach to other artistic expressions; from rock-star to choreographer and photographer, throughout Europe and Scandinavia, he was able to enhance their contributions to culture.
Today, the Maestro is taking back the direction of symphonic and chamber orchestra for the highest enjoyment of the public.

This evening of December in Métropole Hall in Lausanne has left us behind with big enthusiasm. Such events don’t take place often and we want to congratulate Maestro Decor and his wonderful musicians with all our admiration. To interpret “John Williams” with this much temperament is not easily done. Tonight we heard one of the loveliest concerts.
Thank you and congratulations again! We wish you to furthermore continue on the road of success!
Mr. Atilla Sereftug
To listen to Stéphane Decor conducting with astonishing seriousness the resounding music of Superman was a pleasure. Several teenagers, doubtless visiting Victoria Hall the first time in their life (a nice victory in any case), pretended to pull off their shirts to give a glimpse of their “S” of Superman on their chests and they raised their fists as if taking off towards the ceiling covered with frescoes.
We had the privilege of hearing recently in Neuchâtel a concert which was really out of the ordinary, and which will be given again in a few days at La Chaux-de-Fonds.
The Romand Academic Orchestra, based in Geneva, is made up of young professional musicians. It is placed under the enthusiastic and convincing direction of Mr. Stéphane Decor, who comments on each piece with humor.
